Don Makedonsky was one of many in Attica Township who stayed in their homes as the search continued for suspect Alan John Miller.
The Lapeer Co. Sheriff’s Department tells NBC25 News, Miller was on the run from the law after he assaulted his girlfriend and someone else with a fire arm around 2 a.m. on Friday.

Miller went on the run, managing to stay under police radar.
The Lapeer Co. Sheriff’s Department joined forces with the Oakland Co. Sheriff's Department and issued an area wide man hunt.
"Oakland Co. Sheriff Bouchard is very gracious, we're a real community, we don't have those resources, so he allowed his resources to come up today to help us," Kalanquin said.

"I think with his drug history like any animal, when they're being pursued, sometimes they do things that are not too rational," said Kalanquin.
After 36 hours of searching, the suspect surrendered without incident.
He is now in the Lapeer Co. jail.
