(AP) -- WHEATFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A Florida trucker died when his rig crashed on Interstate 96 east of Lansing, closing a portion of the highway while authorities removed the wreckage, cleaned up spilled oil and cleared away the trailer's cargo of cereal. Michigan State Police identify the victim of the 2 p.m. Monday accident as 56-year-old Stuart Conaway of Brandon, Fla. The Ingham County Sheriff's Department says Conaway was ejected from the truck and died at the crash scene 15 miles east of downtown Lansing.
An eight-mile stretch of eastbound I-96 in Wheatfield Township remained closed at 10 p.m. and state police were unsure when it would reopen.
The sheriff's department says an autopsy is planned for Tuesday.
