Midland's Mackinac Center legal foundation is asking a court of appeals to reconsider its decision to drop its case.

The Mackinac Center sued the Michigan Department of Human Services for what it calls "forced unionism."

Right now, private childcare providers who accept government-assisted clients have money taken out of their subsidy checks that go to a union.

A court of appeals dismissed the case without explanation.

The Mackinac Center wants reasons for the decision.
