(AP) -- ESSEXVILLE, Mich. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard Station in Essexville will begin four days of ice rescue training near Bay City State Park. The Bay City Times reports training will be held 6-8:30 p.m. each Thursday through Feb. 11. Petty Officer 1st Class Danny Graves tells the newspaper that the activity is part of the Coast Guard's annual "Ice Rescue Train the Trainer" course. Simulated rescues will be staged and white parachute flares will be set off as part of the exercises.
Bay City State Park is off Saginaw Bay, about 90 miles northwest of Detroit.
