SAGINAW -- Hundreds of Mid-Michigan residents are heading to Washington, D.C., to protest abortion.
Thursday, Saginaw's Bishop Cistone and nearly 400 Mid-Michigan Catholics hopped on buses headed to Friday's March on Washington.
Jan. 22 marks the 37th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision, which legalized abortion.
The Saginaw diocese says this ruling goes against their beliefs. Terri Grierson, Christian Service Director of the Saginaw Diocese, says, "we're people of life. We do not believe that abortion should be legal. We do not believe that is a moral choice any woman or man should be making. We're sad to be part of a society {where} abortion is legal."
The Mid-Michigan group will be joining about 100,000 other pro-life activists in Washington, D.C., on Friday for the march against abortion.
