(AP) -- DETROIT (AP) - A close friend and former top aide to former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and admitted getting money from two land deals when he was on the city's payroll. DeDan Milton now joins his brother Kandia Milton as convicted felons employed in the Kilpatrick administration. DeDan Milton admitted getting $16,000 in connection with the sale of a city-owned camp in 2007 and a police station in 2006. He was executive assistant to Kilpatrick.
As part of his plea deal Tuesday, DeDan Milton will cooperate with the FBI in its ongoing investigation of public corruption. Kandia Milton, who rose to deputy mayor under Kilpatrick, got $20,000 from the camp sale after recommending the deal to the Detroit City Council. He pleaded guilty in December.
