Powers Catholic High School is one step closer to a big move. The Flint Journal reports school officials have signed a purchase agreement for the General Motors Service and Parts Operations World Headquarters site in Grand Blanc Township.
The report adds that the school run by the Catholic Diocese of Lansing requested a special permit from the township to proceed with the move from the school’s current location in Mount Morris Township.
The GM site is reported to be worth $38 million dollars. School officials have sent letters out to parents requesting assistance in their fundraising efforts.
Fundraising events will be held throughout the region to help raise the needed cash, before a March 1 deadline.
