Local theater to host movie marathon for charity

BIRCH RUN -- A theater in Birch Run is hosting an 18-hour movie marathon as part of a fundraiser for the Children'sLeukemia Foundation of Michigan.

The event starts at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, and concludes at 10a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27. It will take place at Cinema Hollywood in the community about 75 miles northwest of Detroit.

Those interested in taking part need to raise a minimum of $108 to be turned in by the day of the event. They in turn get all the movies they can watch in 18 hours, dinner on Friday, breakfast on

Saturday and unlimited soft drinks and popcorn.
