BAY CO. -- Dr. Bruce Francke of the Bay Animal Hospital says several household items could be deadly to cats.

Antifreeze, drain cleaners, and D-Con can cause fatal bleeding.

Medications are very dangerous.  Tylenol is deadly for cats.

One thing many people do not realize is that flea medications for dogs can be deadly if used on cats.  Dr. Francke says using the wrong medication can cause seizures, so it is important to read the labels on all medications before using them on or near your cat.

When cooking, be careful not to allow your car to eat garlic and onions.  These ingredients can cause a type of anemia in the cat.

If you ever have questions about something your animal ate, call the Aspeca Animal Poison Control Center at 1-888-426-4435.
