(AP) -- Police say a man charged with killing two people in Shiawassee County last year was calm and cooperative when he spoke with investigators. Officers from the Owosso police department and county sheriff's office testified Tuesday, the second day of trial for Harlan Drake.
He's charged with first-degree murder in the September deaths of anti-abortion activist James Pouillon (POOL'-yuhn) and Owosso-area businessman Mike Fuoss (FOOSE). Drake was being interviewed about Pouillon's death when a dispatcher got a call from Fuoss Gravel. He told police, "That was me. I shot him," according to Owosso Officer Douglas Stanhope.
Another officer testified that Drake said he had been saving for a trip to Hawaii but wouldn't get to go. Drake admits to being the killer but says he was insane at the time.
