Michigan members of congress sounding off about an expected health care vote this week.
Congressman Pete Hoekstra from the state's west side talked about the issue while campaigning for governor in Bay City Friday.
He opposes the current plan about to be voted on in the House, but says House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may be able to get the senate bill passed.
Hoekstra tells NBC25, "I think it's going to be close. If the Speaker brings the bill to the floor which she's now indicating she is going to do next week, if the bill comes to the floor, I think she's got the votes. She will get the votes one way or another if she's that close."
The House would have to pass the Senate's version of health care reform to get it to the president's desk.
The issue hit a snag in January when Republican Scott Brown won the Senate seat held by the late Ted Kennedy- giving senate republicans enough votes to stop reform.
