The outstanding achievements of several 4-H students were recognized today in Lapeer County.
Students got a chance to compete and present their projects to a panel of judges.
Organizers say the program builds character education.
"This event is a chance for young people to bring in projects that they've created in 4-H and be interviewed by community volunteers who gives them some hints on improving, some encouragement and they get recognized with a ribbon for their achievements," said education director Patricia Waugh.
The awards ceremony took place later during the day.
