This week, Mid-Michigan residents can order Daffodils to support cancer research.

The American Cancer Society has been fighting cancer for more than 35 years.  They say, “although Daffodil Days involves offering daffodils to donors every spring in appreciation for their contributions, it is about more than just giving beautiful flowers – it is an opportunity to share hope for a world free of cancer.”

Today, March 24, 2010, people can order Daffodils for cancer patients.  The flowers will be delivered Wednesday, March 25th.

A bunch of 10 daffodils is available for a donation of $10 or a bunch of 10 with a vase is $15.  A $25 Gift of Hope is a bouquet of 10 daffodils that is delivered anonymously to cancer patients in hospitals and treatment centers in the community.

To request flowers for your home or office, call the American Cancer Society in Genesee County at 810-733-3702 or the Great Lakes Bay Region at 989-895-1730.

The American Cancer Society says, “money raised from the Daffodil Days enables the Cancer Society to offer free programs and services to help people fight cancer with courage and optimism…”
