Police believe Alcohol played a factor in a crash that sent a 67 year old woman to the hospital. The accident happened Monday night at 7:23 PM in Taymouth Twp. in Saginaw County.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the truck was traveling west on Burt Rd, just west of Elms rd. The truck struck the Birch Run woman who was ridding her bicycle.
The woman was thrown to the ground and sustained serious injuries. She was flown by helicopter to Covenant Hospital in critical condition. As of last report she was in the operating room undergoing surgery.
The driver of the truck was a 58 year old man from the Montrose area.
The crash remains under investigation.
