(AP) -- A sentencing hearing is set for a Huron County man who robbed a bank, then was arrested while picking up his girlfriend's children at their school. Darrell Polega of Port Austin is to appear Monday before Circuit Judge M. Richard Knoblock.
The 30-year-old Polega pleaded guilty in February to the Dec. 8 bank robbery in Verona Township, 110 miles north of Detroit in Michigan's Thumb region. Authorities have said Polega escaped with nearly $4,700, but tips and a surveillance camera photo identified him as a suspect. Police arrested Polega a few hours later after he and his girlfriend, Angela D. Campbell, had gone to an elementary school to pick up her children.
Campbell, charged with acting as an accessory after the fact, faces a jury trial scheduled for May 4.
