KENTWOOD, NEAR GRAND RAPIDS -- Some have called national TV and radio host Sean Hannity passionate, even bombastic. Others have said he is wrong on just about everything. The self-described Reagan Conservative (but not a Republican) signed copies of his new book “Conservative Victory: Defeating Obama’s Radical Agenda” at Schuler’s Books and Music store on 28th Street in Kentwood, just outside Grand Rapids.
“On national security, homeland security, and economic security, the president’s policies have failed and he will only get worse unless we stop him,” he said about President Barack Obama.
His book is partically designed to be a playbook for conservatives running for Congress, setting up the November mid-term elections, and even creating a push for the presidential race in 2012. He is not taking a profit from the book, but will be supporting conservative causes with the funds, after covering publishing expenses.
Hannity hosted his nationally syndicated radio show “The Sean Hannity Show” from Grand Rapids and anchored his Fox News Show “Hannity” (replacing the debate program “Hannity and Colmes”) from the book store, shortly before signing books and taking pictures with at least 500 fans that waited in line.
He featured U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Holland), a candidate for governor, and profiled the state’s economic situation.
There were few people protesting Hannity’s visit in the heavily-conservative West Michigan region, but Democrats and liberals have described Hannity as everything from divisive, demonizing, to even politically dangerous.
Hannity left West Michigan for New Orleans, the next stop on his book tour.
