(AP) -- An overpass destroyed last year in a fiery tanker crash on a freeway near Detroit in undergoing more construction. Traffic was reduced to two lanes in both directions Monday as workers began replacing the pavement on Interstate 75 at Nine Mile.
The Michigan Department of Transportation is reconstructing the freeway one-quarter mile north and south of I-75 in both directions. The project is expected to be completed by July.
A 27-year-old Clawson resident paid a $150 fine for speeding and said he caused the July 15 crash that also involved a fuel tanker and a semi-truck.
The freeway reopened in December after the overpass was replaced.
