Eleven year old Samantha Potts of Bay City couldn't be more excited to be named one of NBC25's great kids. Samantha's heart is bigger than anyone could ever imagine.
"Ever since I was really little, like five years old, I always wanted to help people so I've been going around helping my family and now I'm older and I wanted to make my
own group with my friends," Samantha said.
Samantha wanted to create a group and she did. She's the leader of a group called Helping Hands. "It's where we go to peoples houses to help them get stuff if they can't reach it and if they need company, if they're home alone and don't have any pets or anything," says Samantha. "We also help at nursing homes and do activities with them."
Samantha is also a big help at home with her sister Alicia who is living with cerebral palsy, "I've been playing with Alicia since I was really little and helping her do activities too."
Samantha says, "Alicia is very fun to play with, some people might think they're really different but they're not they're just like us and you can play with them like you can play with anybody else, I feel special to have a sister like her."
As April's Greatest Kid of the Month Samantha wins a one night stay and four pack of passes to enjoy Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark at Boyne Mountain.
