Beginning Friday, May 21, Delta College will be closed on Fridays through July 30, and will extend hours Monday through Thursday to better serve students and visitors.
Called “Green Fridays”, this is a green campus initiative to reduce our campus carbon footprint, without decreasing the level of education and services provided. First piloted at Delta College in 2008, the initiative was a result of analysis that showed Fridays had the fewest visitors to campus.
There are some areas of the Delta College campus that will remain open on Fridays. They are the Fitness and Recreation Center, Corporate Services and the Planetarium (May and June).
Delta College has made significant progress toward the development of an environmentally sustainable campus and this initiative is a small piece in that larger effort. If you’d like to learn more about Delta’s sustainability program, visit www.delta.edu/sustainability.
