(AP) -- Michelle Obama is bringing her mentoring message to the Motor City.

The first lady is visiting Detroit on Wednesday as part of an ongoing effort to foster mentorship opportunities for young people. Obama is to take part in a student forum at Wayne State University, and the White House says basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson, film director Spike Lee and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder are among the mentors expected to participate.

The event at Wayne State's Adams Field is to be followed by a smaller luncheon with young people.
