(AP) -- DETROIT - Searchers have recovered the body of a missing 16-year-old Hamtramck girl in the Detroit River off Belle Isle.
Detroit police say Wednesday in a release that Nadaa Thabeet's body was found less than a mile from where she disappeared while swimming Sunday.
Wednesday's search was the fourth consecutive day divers were in the water searching for Thabeet's body.
Police have said she was trying to get to her 11-year-old sister Sunday on the island's east end. The girls' father was able to pull the younger girl to safety, but couldn't reach her sister.
That part of the river is a no-swim zone.
