(AP) -- HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A Wayne County man will serve probation and community service as part of a plea agreement in the bow-and-arrow shooting death of the family dog.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office said Wednesday that 51-year-old Randy Pittman of Huron Township has pleaded to animal killing and torturing.
As part of the plea deal, Pittman will spend two years on probation, do 200 hours of community service, undergo alcohol and drug testing, get counseling and own no animals.
The dog was shot with the arrow last month in front of Pittman's 12-year-old daughter. Authorities have said the dog didn't pose a threat.
Pittman is to be sentenced June 17.
The Associated Press left a message seeking comment from Pittman's attorney.
