(AP) -- A 34-year-old man whose arrest led to the fatal shooting of a 7-year-old girl will face trial in the killing of a Detroit teenager. Chauncey Owens was bound over Tuesday to Wayne County Circuit Court on a charge of first-degree murder. His arraignment is June 8.
Je'rean Blake was slain May 14. A witness testified Tuesday at Owens' preliminary examination that Blake was shot minutes after Owens accused the teen of staring at him. Owens was arrested in an upstairs unit of a duplex during a May 16 raid.
During the raid, a police officer shot 7-year-old Aiyana Stanley-Jones as she lay on a sofa in the downstairs unit. Owens is the fiance of the girl's aunt.
The Associated Press couldn't determine the name of Owens' attorney.
