Taxpayers may have to bail out Flint after the city loses a multi-million dollar court appeal.
The owner of the Genesee Towers building downtown sued the city in 2004 saying the city was trying to take it away from him and condemn it.
The owner won, meaning Flint now owes more than $7-million, which it does not have.
Flint Communications Director Dawn Jones says,
"This administration is deeply disappointed in the decision by the Michigan Supreme Court to not hear our case. If this is the final outcome of what was a terrible mishandling of this situation by former administrations, then we will work with the city council to end this long legal saga."
Flint could ask the court to reconsider, but that would cost more time and money.
The city attorney calls it a "longshot."
