Traffic stop leads to discovery of Meth lab

SHIAWASSEE CO. -- The Shiawasee County Sheriff's office reports a weekend traffic stop lead to three drug arrests and the discovery of a Methamphetamine lab.

Deputies pulled over a vehicle on Morrice Road near Garrison Road in Bennington Township around 3:17 a.m. Saturday. The driver was arrested for not having a valid license, but deputies also suspected illegal drugs in the car. A K-9 unit from the Perry Police Department discovered Methamphetamine, marijuana, narcotic equipment, and a large sum of cash in the vehicle.

After further investigation, deputies were led to a large scale meth operation located on South Delaney Street in Owosso Township. The residents in the area had to be evacuated while the hazardous materials were removed from the home.

A 41-year-old Owosso man, a 36-year-old Owosso man, and a 19-year-old Morrice woman have been arrested in connection to the drug lab.
