BEECHER -- As Dundee, Michigan continues to clean up debris from the weekend tornado and storms, Mid-Michigan is remembering one of the nation's worst tornado disasters.

57 years ago, a tornado ravished the Beecher area, destroying everything in it's path and killing 116 men, women and children.

The Beecher tornado struck on June 8, 1953 and is the ninth deadliest tornado in U.S. history. It is also the last single tornado in America to kill more than 100 people.
