Road repairs scheduled on M-46 in Saginaw

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will complete minor road repairs on M-46 in the city of Saginaw, Saginaw County, beginning Monday, June 14. Single-lane closures will be in effect on eastbound and westbound M-46, leaving one lane open in each direction to accommodate crack seal work. Work extends from Williams Street to Edgewood Street at the Saginaw west city limit. This project is expected to be completed by Thursday, June 17.

I-69 westbound on and off-ramp closures to begin Tuesday

MDOT will close westbound I-69 on and off-ramps to Nepessing Road in Lapeer county, beginning Tuesday June 15.

Motorists traveling on westbound I-69 will use the following detour routes:

Westbound I-69 on-ramp traffic will be rerouted to eastbound I-69, then to the M-24 interchange, where they will follow the loop back to westbound I-69.

Westbound I-69 off-ramp traffic will travel to Elba Road, where they will follow the interchange loop to eastbound I-69, then exit at Lake Nepessing Road.

Single-lane closures remain in effect on eastbound and westbound I-69 with traffic shifted as the MDOT continues road and bridge construction work on I-69 from M-15 to M-24. Motorists are separated using the temporary concrete barrier.

Sixteen portable message boards are in use to alert motorists regarding lane closures and upcoming work.

During 2009, crews completed work across eastbound I-69 lanes. The second phase of this two-year project began in April with work across westbound I-69 lanes. This project is expected to be completed by October 2010.

I-475 Traffic Update: Genesee County

MDOT is making progress on the I-475 corridor project in Genesee County.

Although work has been slowed due to rainy weather, current plans include opening one northbound I-475 lane from the I-75/I-475 split to I-69, and opening the ramp from Hill Road to northbound I-475, this Saturday, June 12.

The scheduled work is weather-dependent and, if delayed due to inclement weather, is expected to be rescheduled for Monday, June 14.

Once the northbound lane has reopened, southbound I-475 from Hill Road south to the

I-75/I-475 interchange will close.  With southbound lane closures already in effect, I-475 southbound then will be completely closed from Atherton Road to I-75.

In addition to the I-475 southbound road closure, the eastbound Hill Road on-ramp to southbound I-475 is scheduled to close with traffic detoured.  Motorists will be rerouted to M-54 (Dort Hwy), where they will head south to the I-475/I-75 interchange.
