DETROIT - (AP) Detroit Lions president Tom Lewand had a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when he was stopped by authorities in northern Michigan last week.

A Roscommon County sheriff's department report says Lewand's breath test came back at 0.21 percent about an hour after he was stopped for erratic driving Friday night. Authorities say he was pulled over after his sport utility vehicle was seen crossing from one lane to another after leaving a bar's parking lot.

Lewand told authorities he has "not drank in a year and a half" and was a designated driver who had stopped at the bar to pick up a friend.

Lewand was issued a citation for operating while intoxicated in Denton Township, Mich., about 150 miles northwest of Detroit. He has apologized for his actions.
