(AP) -- The family of imprisoned ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick have moved from a rented mansion in an exclusive suburb outside Dallas. Kilpatrick spokesman Mike Paul said Thursday that Carlita Kilpatrick and the couple's three sons "are downsizing" to a smaller home in the area.
He says in a release that "Texas is now their home, and they have no plans to move back to the Detroit area." Kwame Kilpatrick leased the house in 2009 after taking a sales job in Texas following his earlier release from jail.
The 40-year-old now is serving at least 14 months in a Michigan prison for violating probation in two 2008 cases. He will be arraigned July 13 in federal court on tax and fraud charges.
