ST. CLAIR SHORES (AP) -- Authorities have identified a body recovered following a boating accident on Lake St. Clair as belonging to a 27-year-old Clawson man.
Macomb County Sheriff Mark Hackel says divers pulled Eric Morey's body from the lake about 6:30 a.m. Friday. An autopsy will be performed to determine how Morey died.
Morey is believed to have been thrown into the water after two boats collided before 1 a.m. about a half-mile off St. Clair Shores.
Hackel says a salvage boat responding to a mayday distress call pulled four people from the water and rescued five others from the wrecked boats.
Hackel reports a 12-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were among those injured.
Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
