SAGINAW -- The Saginaw Police Department is investigating two separate shootings.
Sunday night at 10:30pm, Saginaw Police officers were dispatched to St. Mary’s for a shooting victim who had been dropped off. A 17 year-old female was a passenger in her vehicle at an unknown location and suffered a gunshot wound to her neck. The vehicle was driven by n unknown male. The victim was flown to Hurly Hospital due to the extent of the injury. Victims’ injuries are considered life threatening.
The second shooting happened just before 2 am Monday morning. Saginaw Police officers were dispatched to 1944 East Genesee (BP Gas Station) to a report of a shooting with a man down. Upon arrival, officers found an estimated crowd of over 200 people loitering on all four corners of the intersection, in the parking lots. Multiple shots had been fired at this location. Officers located one victim, a 25 year-old male. Victim had been shot several times (Chest, shoulder, leg). Victim was taken to a local hospital by MMR. Victim’s injuries are considered life threatening. Several witnesses are being interviewed at this time.
Saginaw Police Department Detectives are investigating both cases.
