ROTHBURY (AP) -- A three-day outdoor music event in western Michigan planned to replace the Rothbury festival has been canceled.

Organizers of the L3 Lucky Lake Live Homegrown Michigan Festival say ticket sales haven't been enough to cover costs for the festival scheduled for Aug. 20 to 22.

The event was to be held at the Lucky Lake Campground in southern Oceana County. That's near the Double JJ Resort, where the Rothbury festival had been taking place.

Tickets are being refunded. Those who booked camping sites will receive three free nights.

Rothbury festival organizers said earlier this year they were calling off the event for 2010. Tens of thousands of people attended the four-day festival last year over the Fourth of July weekend.
