If you're traveling across time zones, you don't want to be out of kilter when you get there.
Jet lag occurs because our biological clock doesn't match our destination.
So, here's what you can do.
Start adjusting to the new time zone a few days ahead.
Go to bed one hour earlier for each time zone you're going to cross if you're traveling East.
Do the opposite and go to sleep later if you're going West.
Once you're on board, change your watch, eat your meals and sleep at the times that match your new destination.
Bring an eye mask and ear plugs if you'll need them to sleep on board.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine.
And, when you get there, get right outside into the sunlight. If you arrive at night, stay up until 10 p.m.
You know what. You'll get acclimated in no time at all and everyone else will be jealous of you.
