FLINT, Mich.— The Crim Fitness Foundation is now providing a resource for anyone interested in eating healthier or looking for new ideas on how to eat nutritious foods.
The Crim’s website now includes a section dedicated to healthy recipes. Visitors can choose recipes based on the food category, comment and rate the recipes, and create a shopping list for multiple recipes. The website also contains an area for visitors to submit healthy recipes of their own to share.
Each recipe considered as a CrimFit Healthy Recipe meets specific guidelines for fat, cholesterol, sodium, fiber and sugar set by the Crim Fitness Foundation’s staff and Rachel Fox, a dietetic intern working with the Crim.
“The Crim Fitness Foundation has always been about keeping the community active. In order to maintain good health, individuals need to make sure they are active and eating properly. The Crim is continuing to provide the resources to make that happen,” said Erin Lamb, Youth Program Coordinator for the Crim Fitness Foundation.
Restaurants and other community organizations are also encouraged to submit healthy recipes to the website. Restaurants with healthy menu items to share will receive the Crim Fitness Foundation’s “C” of approval, modeled after the organization’s logo.
“The Crim Fitness Foundation is committed to a healthier, more active Flint. This requires programs to get people active and choosing proper foods to provide quality nutrition,” said Gerry Myers, CEO for the Crim Fitness Foundation. “The CrimFit Healthy Recipe website is the newest addition to the Crim’s menu of services that help individuals reach their health goals.”
