The Michigan Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin night work on 6.2 miles of M-53 in Lapeer County on Monday.
This project, which includes milling, resurfacing, and joint repairs, will progress in a series of 2-mile-long segments. Work begins at the Macomb/Lapeer county line and extends north, ending just south of I-69.
This project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Work will be completed at night from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. One alternating lane will remain open with traffic maintained under flag control.
