UM opens 1st new dorm since 1967

ANN ARBOR (AP) -- The University of Michigan is ready to open its first new dormitory since 1967 with the unveiling of the North Quadrangle Residential and Academic Complex.

The building will be home to several academic programs as well as a place for 450 upper level undergraduates who move in next month.

The complex will be home to the School of Information, as well as four academic units within the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. They are Screen Arts and Cultures, Communications Studies, the Language Resource Center, and the Gayle Morris Sweetland Center for Writing.

The residential tower is 10 stories, while the academic tower is seven stories.
