A bone marrow drive was held for 1-year-old Madison Lasley on Saturday.

Madison was recently diagnosed with leukemia.

The event was held at the Bethany Baptist Church in Flint. People arrived as early as 9 a.m.

The Lasley family is praying that the drive will provide a bone marrow match for Madison so they can go ahead with transplant surgery in October. They have been overwelmed by all the support they've seen.

"Thank you to everyone who's shown up," said Joseph Lasley, Madison's father. "It means a lot to us, to our family and friends. Just the outpouring of support is amazing."

Even if the Lasleys don't find a match for their daughter, they are hoping that the drive will help another child with leukemia find a bone marrow donor.
