FLINT -- The UAW Region 1-C Women’s Council is hosting a Back to School Rally and Resource Fair Wednesday.
School supplies and backpacks will be provided to those in need.
To qualify for the free items, people must bring one of the following:
- Bridge Card
- Medicaid Card
- Proof of Unemployment
At the rally, local schools and colleges will be available for information. Area health care providers (HealthPlus, Blue Cross, Health Alliance Plan) will be onsite with their program information. Carriage Town, Christ Enrichment Center, and other community resources will also be available to provide information on what help is available in the area. There will be free food provided by the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, and entertainment will be throughout the day. There will also be raffle drawings and activities for the family.
The rally goes from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the Region 1-C located at 1940 W. Atherton Rd. in Flint.
