RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP -- Wind speeds reached between 60 and 70 MPH in the Richfield, Davison Township-areas, taking down power lines, trees and blowing branches across roadways like M-15 and Coldwater Road.

“There’s definitely a lot of damage to the fence.  Can’t tell if (the storm) hit the house,” said Dennis McDermott who was evaluating a friends house, while they were out of town.   He took pictures of the damage; not looking forward to telling his friend about the damage to their property.

“I can’t say that on the air,” McDermott said when asked how the home owner might take the news. Elsewhere, power outages have residents like Dave Beamer of Davison Township looking for temporary digs while crews work to turn on the lights.  He may stay with the in-laws.

“I think last time that happened we were out for like 3 or 4 days.  We’ll see what happens this time around.  Hopefully it’s not as long.”
