(AP) -- Authorities searching for a man believed to have drowned in Lake Michigan after high waves knocked him off a pier in Ludington have found a body near where he was last seen. Police in Ludington say the body was found about 11:30 a.m. Thursday and authorities were working to make an official identification. The search for 26-year-old Anupam Bhattacharjee of Detroit was suspended following the discovery.
The computer science Ph.D. student at Wayne State University was missing since Monday afternoon. Witnesses say waves ranged from 6 up to 10 feet at the time he was last seen.
