SEBEWAING TWP -- Around 3:15 pm Wednesday, two semi trucks and a car were involved in an accident.
It happened at the Sebewaing Road and Bay Port Road intersection in Sebewaing Township.
Huron County Sheriff’s officials report a driver of a car failed to yield and crashed into a semi truck hauling sugar beets. The semi beet truck driver, 37 year old Anthony L. Roggenbuck of Ubly, lost control and it is believed that one of his trailers impacted with an eastbound loaded semi truck and trailer driven by 69 year old Lowell J. Messing of Bad Axe. At that time, Messing’s truck then lost control and his passenger, 73 year old Delores M. Messing, ended up being ejected from the cab.
Roggenbuck and both Messings were transported to Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon. The Messings were later transferred to Covenant Cooper in Saginaw. Their injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
The driver of the car was arrested for OWI and driving while suspended. His vehicle was impounded. He faces formal charges.
