(AP) -- A woman charged with murdering her lawyer husband has left the Oakland County jail after prosecutors decided they don't yet have enough evidence to convict her. Laura Johnson left the lockup in Pontiac on Monday after lawyers asked a judge to give her a $10,000 personal bond. She tells WXYZ-TV she's confident of proving her innocence.
County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper tells The Associated Press that investigators will keep seeking forensic evidence to prove guilt. The 46-year-old Johnson is charged with second-degree murder and practicing medicine without a license in the death of her 47-year-old husband. Investigators say they found suspected human tissue, scalpels and bloody bedding in the couple's Farmington Hills home.
