(AP) -- A suburban Detroit woman accused of killing her lawyer-husband is due in court, a day after a medical examiner said the death was not a homicide. Laura Johnson hopes prosecutors will drop charges against her at a hearing Wednesday in Farmington Hills. The Oakland County medical examiner said Lloyd Johnson died from complications of an old wound in his buttocks that never healed. He weighed 413 pounds and his health was described as poor.
Laura Johnson was charged last week with second-degree murder, manslaughter and practicing medicine without a license. She was released from jail Monday, hours after her husband's funeral. She wasn't granted bond in time to attend.
Johnson says her 47-year-old husband was "very sick" and her care prolonged his life.
