MIDLAND, Mich. (AP) - Dave Camp appears to be coasting toward an 11th term in Congress, but that isn't stopping the Midland Republican from posting big campaign fundraising totals.
Figures posted on the Federal Election Commission website show Camp raised $2.65 million this election cycle and had $1.78 million cash on hand.
Totals for his 4th District Democratic challenger, Richfield Township Supervisor Jerry Campbell, hadn't been posted as of Saturday morning.
The nonpartisan Michigan Campaign Finance Network says Camp was the top congressional fundraiser in the state in the July-September quarter with $777,555.
Camp is the ranking Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee and is in line to chair the powerful panel if his party takes control of the chamber.
