SAGINAW -- The Dow Event Center is a focal point of Saginaw County entertainment including major name in music, to the home games of the Saginaw Spirit hockey team.  However, rising operational costs have supporters of the facility pushing for an increase of 0.25 mills on the November 2nd ballot.

The money would add an average of $8 to the annual tax bills of residents, and would raise about $1 million annually to fund maintenance and hire a private management company to market high-profile events to the region.
