Volunteers to continue patrols Sunday night
FLINT -- Flint Mayor Dayne Walling said Devil’s Night anti-arson efforts helped preserve property, and keep people safe with minimal calls to extinguish fires. “This wasn’t much more volume than what we’ve seen in some of our heavier nights over the summer,” Walling said. About 10 arsons were reported. Two of which were at 1454 Belle St. and 342 East Hobson St .
Both abandoned structures were destroyed. A majority of the fires were in abandoned properties although Flint firefighters say they responded to one car fire. Prevention efforts will continue Sunday night.
