Flint native and former NFL offensive lineman Jon Runyan has been elected to U.S. Congress.
Runyan, a Carman-Ainsworth and University of Michigan graduate, beat Democratic incumbent John Adler in the 3rd District of New Jersey on Tuesday night.
Runyan, who ran as a Republican, is a 14-year NFL veteran who played with the Houston Oilers, Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles and San Diego Chargers during his career.
