MT. PLEASANT (AP) -- A 94-year-old retired dentist from Mount Pleasant didn't waste any time, bagging an eight-point buck only hours after Michigan's firearm deer hunting season had begun.

Vincent Brown's hunting success came Monday morning.

His 63-year-old son, Steve, says he actually shot at the deer first and missed, but his dad "takes one shot and gets him."

Vincent Brown served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and turns 95 next month.

He says when he woke up Monday, he told himself he just wanted to take down one more deer.
