MERRILL -- The Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department has ruled a bomb threat that forced Merrill High School and Middle School to go on lockdown Tuesday afternoon a hoax.
A staff member found a hand-written note on a Middle School boys’ bathroom stall door stating, “THARE IS A BOM IS SCHOOL" at 10:46 Tuesday morning.
The school immediately notified 911. Superintendent John Searles tells us, “when we receive something like that, whether we think it's a hoax or not, we always threat them the same. We hold the safety and well being of our students as our number one priority."
Authorities are treating the threat as a criminal matter. The investigation is on-going at this time.
