(AP) -- State lawmakers and Gov. Jennifer Granholm's administration have found a way to raise more money for the Pure Michigan tourism advertising campaign. The state House on Friday approved a bill by an 88-6 vote that will free up an additional $10 million for the campaign that advertises the state's tourist destinations to a national audience.

The bill passed the Senate on Thursday. The measure now goes to Granholm.

The money would come from the state's 21st Century Jobs Fund. Michigan tourism officials had said they would cancel the Pure Michigan campaign that was to begin in January unless they got more funding this week.

The campaign had roughly $5 million for the current fiscal year, but wants closer to $30 million, the amount it received two years ago.
